Thousands of MacBooks experiencing random shut downs
My MacBook started RSDs last Friday the 13th after using it for 2 months. It's very frustrating to be working on something or reading a web page and all of the sudden the screen goes black. Then you have to restart and it doesn't even want to start right away. I also sometimes get RSD after powering up and logging into my user account and when waking it from sleep. For the record, I ordered this from another online source, not Amazon.First it took a month to even recieve my MacBook. When I did recieve it, It had a lazy pixel and now has 3. Then I had trouble with the super drive, it refused to open or eject a CD I put in. Now RSD. Fortunately I procrastinated taking it to the Genius Bar otherwise I would have been in there 3 times getting it serviced. Making an appointment has not been easy, I've been trying for 2 days (I still don't have one), maybe they are getting an over load of MacBooks in for service. I talked to tech support and they said they are aware of the problem and I need to take it in for service.Ya think ? Well they have been made aware because this has been going on for a few months and there are thousands of complaints about RSDs and the super drive defects. There's even a web site devoted to the RSD problem started by a disgruntled consumer. If you do a google search on MacBook random shut downs, you'll get tons of links with info and complaints on this. Or go to Apple's Support discussions pages.Supposedly the heatsync and logic board need replacement, which may or may not help. Some people in the message boards have complained that they started getting RSDs soon after getting the parts replaced.Supposedly the latest production MacBooks will have the new parts.
REFRAIN FROM BUYING THIS COMPUTER!
Okay, now I have been a faithful Mac user forever.But since buying the new Macbook, I have been nothing but frustrated and furious with Apple and Macs.I am a college student at USC and have been without a computer 7 or my 9 weeks at school.It is stressful enough being in your first year of college, without having to spend hours on the phone with apple and having to send off your NEW computer to be repaired SEVERAL TIMES!

I got my macbook three weeks ago. I like the new macbook. But i also experienced a major shut down, out of nowwhere, like the very next week. nice device indeed but the mini-optical port will cost you extra
If you want to hook your airport express to your stereo via optical cable, you can; but you will need to buy a "mini-optical" cable or buy a little connector-converter for your regular-size optical cable.
This is all I needed
I was having problems hooking up my laptop soundcard to my home stereo. There was an annoying hum if the video and computer equipment were hooked up together even on separate rca inputs. I was thinking of getting a new sound card. For a few bucks more, this was a wiser choice. No more wires hanging from my laptop, no more hum when everything is connected.

GREAT DESIGN...GOOD PRODUCT...POOR LONGEVITY
I bought my IPOD Shuffle a year ago and a half ago and it crashed on me in 9 months. The Apple store here in India, replaced the same under warranty with another and that one crashed on me again in nine months.
Decent player for those on a budget
The iPod shuffle is small and compact, and easy to use. Plus, now that the new version is coming out, this type will be a lot cheaper. I love the shuffle versus other players, because it gives me a chance to listen to all my music, whereas if I could see the song I was listening to, I'd be more apt to go straight to my favorite songs and never listen to all the other great songs I have. I'm a college student, and the shuffle is perfect for me: cheap, small, and durable. The only bad thing about this is I have the 1 gb and it says it holds up to 240 songs. I CAN ONLY FIT 92 SONGS on it at a time. So far I only have 120 songs in my library, so it's not too bad, but still. If you're going to advertise 240 songs, the actual number should be a little closer than 92! I've only had it for about a month now, so I can't comment on it's longevity, but so far it's working out great for me. Bottom line: If you want a cheap iPod, the shuffle is the way to go.

Horrible design!
Thank goodness for Apple they made a product designed well enough to get you just past a year (1-year warrenty) and then die. I would hate for them to have to replace all these horribly designed $100 dollar iPods. ... Read more

The Best B/W Laser AIO with ADF for SOHO
After having different AIOs including Brother 7820N and Samsung SCX-4521F I just I love this HP model 3055. This is what makes it better then the rivals:
Perfect for my home office
I love this all in one, it's a little big, but much better then the brother 7820N I got first, while the 7820N is smaller, 7820N had some page curl and eats 1032 watts at peak which kept tripping my computer's APC, this unit does not have paper curl and only hits 300 watts peak which is well below my circuit capacity. I would recommend this unit over all MFCs on the market, and with the currect 50% rebate going on for OCT, it cannot be beat for the price. If you need a B&W laser all in one, this is the best.

Fantastic Multi-Function Device, Solid Functionality
11/16/06: I have already scanned over 1000 documents on this machine in the last few days. After dealing with a multitude of configuration options and issues, it has performed solidly as a scanner. It did experience many paper Jams using the Auto Doc Feeder, however, you can reduce the frequency of these jams by NOT scanning through a wireless network - which tends to cause jams due to wirless network interference that delays communication between the mfc and your pc. Using the USB port, the jams were much less frequent.

Wonderful "bang for the buck" camera and printer!!
I purchased this camera printer combo for my daughter's 16th birthday. The price was unbeatable. The camera has a ton of features, and the pictures are beautiful, and crystal clear. The printer is tiny and portable, great for a teenager, and it hooks up easily to the TV to view/edit/print the photos. She was able to print pictures of her party for her friends to take home with them.
Real Camera for Real People
This camera is best among its class. The LCD displace is so brigh and high resolution. All buttons are very well organized so easy to use. Special flash recycle so fast and strong makes the shooting indoor and dark area an experience. The software menu is so easy to reach. I got SLR Pentax Digital Camera before, but can't tell the difference in picture quality.

I waited to review this...
...until some time had passed, based on others' original good first impressions deteriorating after a bit of time, because of breakage, annoyance, problems with resetting and reception, etc.Well, I have had the remote for over two months now and I think it's (still) just great.I love the radio option and the remote lets me stash the Pod safely in my bag on my commute.Only relative negative I've noted is having to retrieve said safely stowed Pod to switch between radio and hard drive access modes, which, for the most part, is no big deal.I do wish the iPods originally came with installed radio access, such as can be found on the Creative Zen Micro (my previous player), but this radio/remote helps fill in that gap.

Nice radio; too much cord!
I agree with the reviewers who wrote that the radio is very nice, but that it adds too much cord! Best would be a built in FM radio.But, failing that, why not a radio that plugs in directly to the iPod with a jack for headphones? Or, ideally, give consumers a choice of cord or plug-in!This extra length of cord pretty much subverts the compact neatness of my Nano, and because I like a radio when I travel I'll probably continue to use my MP3 player when traveling!Too bad!

Good Overall, a little pricey though
It works great with the Ipod nano, to start out with. It's nice that it comes with a new pair of headphones, as my old ones had gotten worn. I hardly use the radio feature, but it's nice to have, plus absolutely seemless, like true mac stuff always is. The best feature (which never mentioned) is if you snag it, it breaks apart! Now that sounds bad, but it does it so a simple click puts it back together with no wires to break as everything is just on one side (and when put on pants or something, you'll snag anything), so it's tough as well. This little dock works well.I already have the charger that came with the ipod (and the firewire lead) so I used that to charge it.

Horrible quality
I bought this camera 4 months ago. The on/off switch no longer works and the camera is a piece a trash now.I contacted HP support.Unfortunitely, it only came with 90-day warrenty. So I was offered to pay $115 to exchange for a used one, imagine that!.That ends my desire of buying any product from HP.
A good camera for the casual photographer
I got this camera about 4 weeks ago. I've been using it as much as possible and I like it. It's easy to use, almost point and shoot. I have limited knowledge in photography, so this is good for me.
Ok, but could be a lot better.
We wanted a simple, easy to use digital camera and the guy at Circuit City recommended this one.We just took it on our trip and while it worked ok, I wish we would've shelled out a little more and gotten a better camera.

it's a lemon
I was ready to really love this pda. It's nice and thin, feels good in the hand and was the cheapest PDA with wireless. I mainly needed it to check my email when i'm out and about.
Works as designed...mostly
It does everything they sayt it does. My only quibbles keeping this from 5 star status is Windows Media Player insists on loading media into the small internal memory rather than my 1 gb sd card. And the wireless occasionally does not connect to my access point, dropping th ewep key settings when it doesnt connect right away.One other flaw is the terrible IR range.

The HP Laserjet 1022 has been a champ, printing mainly on standard printer stock, but also various Avery 8.5x11 label sheets - with multiple runs thru the printer, the occasional envelope, and some two-sided pages as well. The prints are uniformly crisp and clean until the toner begins to run out; by removing and shaking the cartridge, then re-inserting it, i've been able to get an extra day's printing out of each cartridge, roughly another 100-200 sheets. The only thing it lacks is automatic duplex printing, but I have yet to see a network ready and duplex all-in-one inkjet machine.You can manually duplex print, so it is not a big deal for us, and it can also be hooked to to a single computer by USB if needed. I must say that I was skeptical about getting this printer because the hp printer software is always so buggy. Outstanding value printer! Bought this model today. Light, compact and blazing fast, with razorsharp text/images and dense opaque blacks. I got it to print my black line artwork illustrations and occasional text. I compared it to the comparably priced Brother models, and chose the HP for one reason; the drum is part of the toner cartridge versus the Brother, which requires their separate drum part replaced after 10,000 prints. The Brother drum is pricey, costing more than the printer. So I went with the HP with its 10 dollar higher cartridge, but no prospect of expensive drum replacement. Read more
