Great looking machine pity about modem
This machine looks really good .However the problem is that there is no built in modem so if you dont have a external modem to connect to or broadband then its useless in connecting to Internet .This is not the same as my Powerbook G4 which has an internal modem.Tried to connect an old compaq modem up to the G5 and absolutely nothing happened , however this external modem works fine with G4.Have ordered a apple usb modem weeks ago - but no sign of it so far, guess they are having to manufacture a lot of them.My wife furious for inflicting her with somethimg which I wanted due to my liking of the powerbook .

Love my mac... but macs aren't for everyone
I love macintosh! I am a graphic artist, and purchased my first mac 6 years ago. (A cute blue one!) But it is pretty much a requirement in my field. But for those looking for everyday use, this machine has worked seamlessly with my digital camcorder, and burns CD's and DVD's quickly and easily. The iDVD and iMovie software can make anyone a great director! I think this software is unparalled for the novice! Rare viruses, great support, and who doesn't want an ipod? Ipods work so seamlessly with this machine, along with iTunes.
Best desktop computer available today
I've got a Pentium IV 3.0 GHz box running Windows XP Pro, and a Pentium IV 2.4 GHz laptop running SuSE Linux Pro 9.2. Until I got my 20" iMac G5, I used the Windows computer about 10% of the time and the Linux laptop the other 90% of the time throughout my day.

I was seriously put out when my family got a Mac, and I felt some grudge against it.......I just used myDell with Windows ME.I was saying that I would never allow myself to be a serious Mac dude.Hahaha!
buy apple care!
We have always have had a Mac, from a "performa" to a G5 powermac, we love the operating system and the design, but our imac has been in for repairs twice {in 6 months}we still recomend apples , but are not always happy with the Apple Store- And that is another story.

Huge Improvement!
This new Apple iMac G5 17" Desktop has improved from those iMac G3. Don't you remember those Apple iMac G3's with all those colors. I loved that PC because it looked so cool and sleek but back then I would have never bought a Apple. I love Apple now and I think this is one of Apple's best desktops. 17" of pure beauty and if you want even better beauty go with the 20". 1.80GHz is okay speed (nothing special). 80 gigabytes is not enough and you should upgrade to like 250GB. DVD-RW drive is nice and you can burn tons of movies. I heard that Apple designed this from the Apple iPod and it looks kind of like it. I just love how Apple designs their computers. Mac OS X is the best operating system on the market right now and it's on this PC. Check out the specifications.

Doesn't do much.
As someone else pointed out, "All the dock does is make the iPod stand up instead of lying there." That's it. You'd think for $40 it would also include, say, an extra connecting cord or wall plug so you could charge the thing while it stands up. But no.

Ha You think this dock charges your Ipod? Think again.
Why waste the money?I bought two of these - one for a 10G IPod and one for a 15G IPod - it charges neither.The box even states that it will not charge these models but you don't see that in the advertisements now do you?

If you are considering the 15GB ipod you might as well get the 20GB ipod which gives you a dock.This dock is about 38 dollars and the 15GB ipod is about 250 dollars which adds up to 288.A 20GB ipod is 275 on amazon...so make good decision. But if you already have an ipod then u don't have to worry about the cost.Just get the dock. ... Read more

Very Good
The Apple iSight is a very expensive webcam, but if you compare the quality of image, ease of use, and the elegance and versatility of the design to its competition (the magnetic mount is wonderful) I have to give a guarded thumbs up to the iSight. It is the superior product, but the price is high, and its not problem free:
Crisp image?Not.
For $150, I expect a crisp image with no soft edges in good lighting.What a disappointment, Apple.I even aimed it outside during sunlight, with the window open and nothing in between, and still got fuzzy soft edges.I suppose if you minimize the viewing window to it's smallest little box, it might look okay.This is my second iSight.I returned the first one because of the same issue, only worse.Too bad I gave it another chance.This auto-focus thing is not as good as it could be.I'd rather have control of the focus. It looks nice though.

Best webcam out there
Don't mess around trying to get other things to work - this one is wonderful, and well worth the extra money for a well designed cam that 'just works'. When I opened it, I looked for an install disk. Of course, there isn't one. You just plug it in and iChat fires up... Compare that to any other cam.

Perfect for the eMac!
This is a must have for any eMac owner. It puts the eMac at eye level on most desks and allows you to tilt it up, down and spins it side to side as well.Made of bullet proof, very thick, plastic. Has two parts connected by a stainless steel pin in center. Can be taken apart to clean. An eMac without this is a less functional eMac for sure.
