Not too bad for the price...
I bought this computer (package deal at Best Buy) for my use at home. I am returning to school to finish my Bachelor's degree and it has everything I need.I agree that the graphics and sound card are slightly lacking, but I am not too much of a techno-wiz to worry about that stuff. I use it for my school work, reports, presentations, and listening to CDs.The computer is very quiet and pretty fast for what I have used it for. (...)
Nice value, good everyday computer.
I bought this Compaq two weeks ago after my computer's motherboard died.I would say it's probably the best value for its price right now, because it has a 200 gig hard drive and 512 meg memory.The Athlon and bus aren't the latest in technology, but it should be adequate for most applications.The DVD plays well, without any skips like my previous computer had.I'm amazed at how quiet the fan is.

Display/Network Woes Presario 6010us
Picked it up about a year ago, and it worked ok.However, when upgraded memory with PNY pc2100 512mb x 2 dimms, the computer has random lockups, video degradation and just generally unstable performance. Freezes playing dvd - and before that has a lot of random horizontal lines going all over the screen, spontaneously reboots while downloading from the internet via the network connection. my computer
i love this computer! i bought it in may of 02' and i am absolutely Great
At first I was a little skeptical of Compaw, but my fears was soon relieved. My old computer was an HP, and i hated all other manufacturers, but I decided to give Compaq a chance since HP does own them. Also, the price was great, only 599 at Circut City.Read more

Very good!
I got this computer for $485 on amazon, under the "acceptable condition tab" which made me quite skeptical at first.Computer arrived on time--and it packs some serious power.160 HD, 3000+ XP which is equivalent to a pentium 3.0 GHZ, and a 512 MB RAM.
