I originally bought an HP Pavilion zd7500.After sending it in five times for the power cord not working and all the wasted time sitting on hold, they finally replaced it.They replaced it with this piece of garbage.I do extensive work on my laptop and I am telling you if you want a personal space heater by this machine.Not only will it keep you warm it will overheat and crash on you while running your screen saver or a word document.Note to user, don't place this unit on a table.This is unfortunately inherited by a lot of laptops that run the Intel Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading.I suggest looking for something better without Intel HT.

Nice concept but fragile and HP support is terrible
If these machines would work consistently as promised they would be great.It's very fragile and best used as a small desk top.
Great Computer . . . While it lasted.
I finally bought this computer 4 months ago for college, after sampling and returning two different compaqs.Overall, I was very happy with it.I am not a gamer, but I had few problems with it.Occasionally the feature intended to run a DVD without turning on the hard drive (very handy) would freeze up, but other than that, wonderful!Good battery life, good graphics, nice screen, handy remote, pretty good speakers, nice keyboard, held up well when transported, and not too heavy.However, 4 months after purchase, it died.The monitor turned off in the middle of operation, and it would not turn back on for longer than 30 seconds.Still under factory warranty, I sent it in to Hp, but despite numerous phonecalls, no one even got back to me to give me a time estimate for its return for over two and a half weeks.Overall, I would recommend a more reliable brand of computer. (I had ZERO problems with my last laptop, a dell, in 3 years of heavy use.)

Great computer
I just purchased this computer and i really like it. The screen quality is excellent and the sound system is also above average for a laptop.I love the remote control feature for watching movies and dvd's. The only problem I have encountered in the week that I've had it is that sometimes it will freeze-up when I try to start a game or even when I start up the computer. I've had many computers and I work in the IT area at my company, we even have an enterprise agreement with the current top computer company.We also have an employee discount program with that company but even with that they couldn't touch this deal.Because of that and the fact that my husband has an older HP Pavillion that has been a work horse for him, never fails and has done a good job for him for a long time (I've been through two to his one) I decided to go with what works this time.I'm being very truthful when I say I wasn't expecting the quality and performance that I got with this computer.I'm super impressed and extremely happy with it.I'd recommend this to anyone, and Amazon definitely has the best price and fast delivery even though I chose the "free" option. ... It's awesome
I'm not a computer geek, however, this computer appears to have it all. I'm working on my dissertation and needed a computer that could "multi-task", because I'm downloading all sorts of information, studies, statistics for my paper. I ordered my laptop 3/16/06 from HP and customized it with an extra 1Gb of RAM, extra USB ports, 1GB smart card, and an Expansion base. I checked the box on the order form, to send it all at once. Instead they sent everyting separtely, the RAM, the smart card, the ports, and the base all arive separately.

HP Sucks
HP has the WORST customer service of any company of any kind that I have ever dealt with. I have never called without having spent at least one hour on the phone with them before the various extensions in India, none of whom are helpful. And once the service is complete the computer is usually returned with more problems than they were originally sent with. I would never buy another HP again ... Read more

Super Fast And Trouble Free
I've been using the m7360n for about two months now having upgraded from an older m470n model.Installation and setup was a breeze and all features function as advertised.This machine is super fast and the layout of connectors, card slots, etc. is well organized.Setting up the Media Center features was fast and easy and the picture and sound quality are great.I particularly like the removeable second hard drive (optional accessory) as I can transfer recordings to this drive and plug it into any other PC.The only negative I can think of (and this is a personal opinion) is the massive amount of games and other software that comes pre-loaded.However, a visit to Control Panel-Add Remove Programs quickly took care of this.I highly recommend this product to anyone considering a Media Center PC and the value for the money, reliability and tech support are far superior to Dell or Sony.

Its a Desktop replacement for basic mobility
Criticizing the battery life or the weight on the HP Pavilion is lame, because that is not what it is intended on emphasizing. This product is made to host Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition, and should be treated that way. It isn't the most mobile of all notebooks, but it shouldn't be used that way. The best purpose for the notebook side to it is so you can move it from room to room in your house and still access your data and entertainment, weather in the living room or the work desk. Sure the battery is only good for a single DVD movie, but thats all it needs. Using this as a computer to take to school every day or work on a constant basis is just not practical. But if you want a computer you can use around the house, this is the one for you.

I bought the zd8060 2 months ago and havent had ANY problems whatsoever with the build quality.This thing IS a beast though.It has a P4 so it runs too hot to actually have it on your lap and only lasts 1.5 hrs on the battery.Its got a beautiful screen and a nice number pad on the right.The mouse pad is a little sketchy at times (cursor just goes wherever it feels like going) but the great thing about that is there's a button right above it so you can disable it (also, the space on the right of the mouse is big enough to use a usb mouse on).
