Really great product with few 'GOTCHAS'
I really enjoy this system.I don't have problems with the machine freezing up and it boots up very fast.I have captured video, burned CDs, burned DVDs and everything behaves the way it should. What a difference!!
I have had this for almost a month. What a change! With the computer, XP, and a Sony A-400 monitor, the internet has never been faster on DSL, it starts right up when you press on, it hasn't crashed yet, the color is great and the burner with it's software works like a floppy. Turbo HP
System is great, if combined with the flat panel monitor from HP WOW.... It's a piece of art... XP windows operating system is nice but don't expect to receive a recovery disk... Have fun. ... Read more

hp pavilion bundled software(software bundle)
hp was given to be for x-mas and buy the time I opened it and set it up the 30day software coverage was over and the 15day return to store was over,and I reg the computer with hp but forgot(didnt see)the small box the reg it with microsoft,and never saw it again,and found that the key code didnt match,for me none of the few booklets about the software or hardware matched and were of little help,and the rebate had expired dec31,I was not at all happy that the windows xp preloaded didnt come with the cd,no recover cd,no back software,and it was anything but easy to sign up for internet unless it was the one preinstalled,I can not get dsl,and loading your cd from a provider doesnt work,or is very difficult,so I would just say relly look into whats installed really installed and look to see everything in the box,cables,speakers,booklets,cds,warranty,most of all the languge and country you want to use it in,and the speed is not what its says

I bought this system (...) with a MX70 17" monitor. Its's a good system for what I want it for. I will upgrade the Ram and get more probably 512 because of the pictures I want to keep. I am learning a lot about the XP and how it is not linked to many programs and how you need to download a lot of stuff to use it with the computer. I have a laptop too and tried to download the Microsoft office upgrade but it wouldn't recogize it because it had Works and not Word. Mostly software problems. Performs OK But No Windows XP CD
My Pavilion seems to perform fine and I would recommend buying it unless you are concerned that it ships with Windows XP preloaded. That means you don't get a CD with XP on it and you don't get a Recovery CD and you don't get the MS Backup software that is shipped on the Windows XP CD.

Great computer
I am very pleased with this computer.
Not Media Not as advertised
I had to send this back because it came with Windows XP Home Edition and not Microsoft Media Edition as advertised.I got a full refund, but also a disappointed husband as this was one of his Christmas presents!

Caution!!!The HP Pavilion a1220n DOES NOT come with Windows XP Media Center Edition as advertised.I had purchased this computer mostly to get the Media Center, boy was I surprised.Since it came from another supplier all I was told was that Amazon incorrectly advertised it.They could only refund my money (or let me exchange it for something more expensive of course).

is good but it gives some problems
It works excellent, but has some problems with the drivers in special if you want to burn a DVD that is encypted, cause doesn't work with alcohol 120% you need to find another software, ahh and when u use the lightscribe you can make a damage in your DVD that you have burned, so take care with that, but the CPU works great the HD is big and the memory makes that the PC starts fast.

I am really impressed
this is the first home computerI have bought for years, ( I normally use my business machine but my company's standard kit is getting a bit dated) Performs OK But No Windows XP CD

I think it was a bit over priced
I got this computer and about a month later I thought I payed to much.You can build the computer yourself for at least 100 bucks less.But other then that it is a high end computer. NVIDIA GeForce4 MX graphics with 64MB of memory
needed a computer that was inexpensive, but that had solid features. This computer is inexpensive and has superior features. Tons of memory, a huge hard drive, and a great video card. It plays the latest 3d games very smoothly even at high resolutions.Plus the dual cd drives make copying my music cd's much faster, and the 6in1 card reader makes it really easy to download my digital camera pictures in my computer.Downlaoding time and site access is unbelievable fast even with dail up connection which i have .. cd burning time iam burning cd in less then three mins.. u can play all the up to date games with no problem.i would recommend this tower.. I also bought the 15' hp flat panel lcd screen and same thing beutiful picture screen adjusts to view and the speakers that come with it are good .... Read more
