Beware Sony Desktops
The Sony Desktops seem to work well right out of the box, but soon problems develop.First the printer port failed, then a DVD-RW drive went out.Replacements don't fit right so you have to permanently remove the face plate of the computer--now it looks like trash.Then the software fails or starts to haveproblems--I mean the Sony video software.Lots of rebooting and freezes.Drive you nuts nd you are constantly losing work.You can't upgrade, you have to buy a whole new computer, and there are no software fixes.Sony support really sucks, you'll never get any help.And dron't try to find hardware upgrades, you can't find parts to fit your specific model, and no one at Sony gives two hoots.So beware.You'll be buying another computer in a few short months!

Top of the line - Almost!
I'll preface this review by revealing that this is the FIRST pre-assembled, brand name computer I have EVER purchased in my life. Up until this point, I have always built my own, believing that you had more control over the quality of the end product than anything a mass manufacturer would ever do. However, when my last system died due to some kind of yet to be determined motherboard defect, I had finally had enough! I couldn't bear to think of going through the process of reinstalling a new operating system and drivers from scratch again.I decided I just wanted something that worked right out of the box and a warranty so I could just return to the store and say "fix it" if anything ever happened.
Failed Out of The Box
Received a "CPU Fan Abnormal" error on the first restart.The fan is working but the CPU is running to hot at idle.I called Sony they are going to repair, not replace it.I purchased it from Circuit City and they are going to replace it, thank you for standing behind the products you sell!I have had trouble with other Sony products lately, so I think this will be the last Sony product I purchase! ... AWESOME
I really am confused over how someone could dislike this laptop as much as these other people have.Frankly this is the best electronic device I have ever owned.It does everything your typical computer should do, plus more, alot more.The docking station is fantastic especially when I need to move around (just pick it up and go, my router is connected to the station), and I won't even get in to how great it is to watch tv, record the shows you miss, and then burn them to DVD so you can watch later.For me, the FS680 has all the mobility of any other laptop, but with desktop-like power inside, plus features that even some desktops don't have.

Slow, low battery life
Although it has a 1.86 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM, it is very slow compared to a slower model.Besides, the battery life is only about 1.5 hours at the most making it not as portable as other SONY laptops. ... Read more

STAY AWAY
I have the exact same problems as the previous reviewer. Mulitple hard drive and system board replacements and unfriendly tech support. The computer is currently being fixed for the 6th time. Toshiba tech support is a joke - they know next to nothing. I once waited on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes befor finally giving up. If you find youself in the same situation, contact customer relations (if you can get through) and file a complaint - the more the better. I hope to be getting a refurbished laptop as a result. You can sell it on Ebay ($1200) and buy something else - NOT TOSHIBA. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Be aware of crooked Toshiba repair services
I wish I would know at a time of buying this laptop what I know now. To make my story really quick, Toshiba fails to repair this $3200 laptop. We have it for little over 1.5 year; it was used only for about 6 months. It is in repairs and being repaired since 2.2.2006 with the same problem for 6 times now.

Toshiba P25- S526 , Takes a Licken' Keeps on Ticken'

Toshiba does not care for its customers
In the beginning it was the DVD drive: it broke down only a few weeks after acquiring my laptop. It took Toshiba 3+ weeks to change it. Then the HD crashed. It took them 2 weeks to repair it. Probably a quick and dirty repair, since the HD broke down again a few weeks later. That was 4 weeks ago and since then they are trying to repair my laptop - which beyond the HD seems to have other deeper problems. Despite all these problems, Toshiba will not replace the laptop for one that works and ask me to keep waiting...
Poor customer service - will not replace defective computers
The Satellite P25-S526 notebook computer has never worked properly -- it gives a fatal error message and the blue screen appears.The computer techs could not fix it, so it was sent back to Toshiba for repairs.They apparently replaced the hard drive, but when it was sent back to us, it continued its previous behavior.Toshiba refuses to exchange the defective computer for a new one that works.They claim that their warranty policy only covers the repair of the original computer.So far, we have wasted a month on this computer, and it still doesn't work.Plus, Toshiba wants us to send the computer back to them for more repairs.We may like the computer once it is working, but the hassle is not worth it.Buyers beware! ... Best camera under $100
I purchased this camera a couple weeks ago and I love it. I have a Pentium III 650 mhz and 128 mb of ram so this thing has great picture quality and very good frame rate. I had no problems installing the software in Windows 98. The Camera Pack come with an extra video phone software disk that you can send to friends and family. I have owned other cameras in the past and none of them compare to this one. If you have never bought a pc cam before and you have a decent Pentium processor this is the cam to get.

I bought this camera to add some fun to my computer.The installation waseasy, I just plugged it into an open USB port put in the CD and within 10minutes I was using the camera.The software is great.There are somegames that come with it that allow you to play basketball using the camera. Although the games are a bit cheesy, it's still a great idea.I used thesoftware to film myself saying hi to my mom and I e-mailed it to her.Sheloved it.She now has it on her desktop and plays it all the time.Thereis also a internet phone call option which is more difficult because itrequires the person you want to call to have the same software.But Intelwas thinking and they included an extra CD to give to a friend.I can takegreat snapshots with the camera too.With the correct light, the picturesare almost as good as any digital camera.The package came with a chanceto get extra free software that included a program that took a picture atcertain time intervals or when it sensed motion (a lot of fun to spy onpeople while you're away).Also it included basic webpage buildingsoftware, great for beginners.The last program allowed me to createlonger movies out of pictures, movies and wavs that I had previously made.
