1-0 out of 5 stars A Big Waste of Money - Looking to replace this camera ASAP
I lost my HP R607 while on vacation and needed to replace it quickly. I couldn't fine another R607 (which I really liked), so I purchased the HP M407. I thought it would be the next best thing to my misplaced camera...NOT!! I don't like anything about this camera...It's terrible! You can take about 4 pictures with regular batteries, about 10 with rechargeable ones (even with screen off). It says "auto focus", but I don't think it has any focus at all....not far away, not close up, nothing! It takes a really looooooooong time to actually Take the picture after you press the button.I really hate it!Keep Looking...Don't buy this camera!

2-0 out of 5 stars Great camera for the first month or so
We bought one of these in the spring of '05. We took it on vacation in July of '05 and the LCD screen blacked out a few days into our vacation. I called HP and was informed that a RECONDITIONED (used) camera was all that I could get. The camera was still under the manufacturers' warranty, but their policy was to replace it with a used camera, not a new one. I had to settle for the "reconditioned" camera. It has been OK since then.
2-0 out of 5 stars Great camera... while it lasts.
Normally I wouldnt write a review, but I have had numerous experiences with this camera that I thought I would share.

2-0 out of 5 stars Design Jet in name only
I bought this printer a few years ago, it has been to the repair shop no less than 3 times. I had the warranty and HP did a good job with shipping me printers (so I give it 2 stars), but alas it quit again the other day and no more warranty, so no more printer. Images fade, it doesn't print quite photographically, and it requires a degree to figure out some of the functions. Not to mention it can bleed ink all over on the best setting. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but can do with more enhancements
I've had this PDA for 6 months and it's been very useful in most cases. My one big complaint is that you cannot use a bluetooth cordless headset to listen to mp3 music/audio.This is something HP needs to upgrade.I would rather not have to switch to a corded headset just to listen to music.

4-0 out of 5 stars some recommendations after using it 1 year
I bought this unit one year ago, and I love it.I have some recommendations about ways to take the best of it:
4-0 out of 5 stars Really good, haven'tfound the perfect PDA yet, but close
If it could do more screens in landscape, especially the internet, it would be a a 10 (out of 5 starts. I like the combination of a useable keyboard and stylus, the battery ife is very long. I don't need a camera. The screen can always be bigger and better, but I was happy with it for business and intrenet use, I'd still have it someone didn'swipe it. I'm likely to buy another one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely pleased
I first borrowed an r817 (same as r818 except for color) from a friend for a trip to the grand canyon and a trip to Vegas. I was a little worried about the lack of a view finder (only LCD) because I thought it may not work well in bright light or might run the batteries out, but I quickly got over that worry. The camera did incredibly well in the bright sun light at the grand canyon and I never had battery problems. The panorama mode was awesome!I was able to create some phenomenal shots using it at the grand canyon.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Scanner That Does A Lot Of Things
I love this scanner!I got it over a year ago and it is still working strong.I got it for the ADF feature.I use the ADF with Acrobat Writer.Very rarely does the ADF jam and when it does its due mostly to user error. When it does jam it does not eat the paper and its easy to correct. The software that comes with it is simple to use.Make sure your computer has loads of memory if you plan on scanning anything over 600dpi.Ive also used this to archive photos taken on the job and it does a great job at that.I dont suggest buying this scanner if your main requirement is film or slides. For that you should get a dedicated machine.Ive used with USB and SCSI.SCSI is faster but usually I dont notice the difference unless Im scanning over 600 dpi.The only bad thing I can say about this machine is that it can be noise.Good luck.

1-0 out of 5 stars Expected better from HP
Very noisy & slow scanner.1-0 out of 5 stars A very poor scanner; Very noisy and Poor photo scan quality
When using the automatic document feeder, it produces document scans that are skewed slightly. HP technical support says this is normal.I find this completely unsatisfactory. You will not be able to produce accurate document scans.Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sorry I Bought this Printer
I bought a 1200dtwn in January. My previous printer was an HP 990Cse that never gave me any trouble and still works beautifully. The only reason I got the 1200 was for the network capability. The 1200dtwn is a "sensitive" and complex machine. For several weeks I have had a problem where the Toolbox ink level display for 2 of the 4 inks shows as zero even though this is not possible. The other 2 inks show reasonable numbers of 74 and 91 percent. The HP support people had me upgrade the printer's firmware to a level that corrected a problem where the ink levels displayed as zero. This firmware upgrade did not solve my problem. In fact after installing the upgrade all 4 inks displayed zero percent ink and when I printed a test document I could hear it printing but nothing appeared on the paper. Fortunately I had come located a 5-step procedure to reset the printer. This is an absurdly complex secret ritual-type of procedure. After resetting the printer I was back to where I was before installing the firmware upgrade, with the Toolbox showing 0 percent for 2 of the inks. I think the firmware upgrade may have corrected the problem I had after an envelope jammed, inside the printer- where all the printer's indicator lights were lit (this condition is not documented) and the printer refused to do anything - it wouldn't even turn off.
5-0 out of 5 stars Quality printer
I had a HP970cxi, simply a great unit that printed photo lab quality pictures from a 1.5 meg camera, great graphic presentations on plain paper and printed business cards (Avery) effectively.I just tried out my new 1200dtwn and its printing quality is equal to the 970.It uses the same color technology,PhotoREt III, that was in the 970.

5-0 out of 5 stars A FAST AND RELIABLE INKJET FOR HIGH VOLUME PRINTS
I work in an engineering firm and we use for our A4 color prints both a color laser ( xerox phaser 6250 ) and the HP 3000.1-0 out of 5 stars POOR POOR Product
I have to say, I have been a loyal HP fan, and I picked this printer to replace my old 2000 model, which I loved. I wanted a HIGH capacity ink machine, that would do color printing without the constant cartridge change of less professional models. This printer (my second one) is nothing but an albatross. It has never worked right from day one. The first one, which was exchanged for this new one, was defective, shook the table apart and never was able to get going. The new one is worse. The on off button does not work until it feels like it, it jams paper, it bands the colors completely missing some spots of color, it is WAY too noisy, it prints in jerking steps and comes out of the machine in jerks, print quality is somewhat grainy, nothing like the quality I have come to expect from HP printers. I have an emergency $29.00 HP models Inkjet 3520 that has FAR superior print ability. Shame on HP! POOR POOR design.I am still awaiting a return for this one! I would recommend you DO NOT get this machine, as it is a dinosaur.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love it.
This printer works great for me.I find the quality is good enough for me to use draft mode for printing fliers. The printer has great print quality (for a non-Photo printer) and is exceptionally fast. There are four separate print cartriges which have remtoe print heads to printing is relatively econominal. One thing to note is that the printer senses when the print cartrige is empty and will stop printing. This isn't a problem for me, but it might be for people tring to refill cartriges or who want to stretch the print cartriges to the end. Also, the printer can get pricey if you purchase bundled with the duplexor and the print server options. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Not Bad, Works Fine for Basic Prints
I don't have high expectations for this type of printer, one that you can put a flash card in and print the photo without a computer. Most often, photos will need some sort of tweaking, of white balance, of color, of something. This little printer does fine with the basics. It has some editing capabilties, not as many as I'd like, but for the price, it's just fine. I wanted the printer to use at some of our fundraising events, to take pictures of people with their dogs, print out a 4x6, give them the print, and go on to the next on-- This will work fine for that, and allow us to run this with only one person, if necessary, since the computer isn't involved. Battery is a huge plus.
1-0 out of 5 stars Does not work out of the box
I am an IT professional (BSIT) and I bought this product because it is rated #1 by Consumer Reports and I own several HP printers that I really enjoy. However, I had the same experience as several other reviewers of this product. This printer simply does not work out of the box. After trying for 1 day I gave up and called HP customer service and they diagnosed the problem as a defective chip in the printer. They wanted to replace the printer with a refurbished one; I refused and threatened to return it back to Amazon. I was placed on hold and then told that I would receive a firmware upgrade via FedEx overnight. If this upgrade does not work I will be forced to return the printer to Amazon.

Very good printer with very few notable short comings for the price. Did extensive research before purchasing and found only one issue which may concern others - that is that the pictures will smudge with wet fingers. But you can work around this of course by putting in an album. Also please note that HP no longer sells this product (according to their web site )but did not see that noted at Amazon. Hook up is easy but for some reason the install from CD took 30 minutes on Windows XP -but finally did finish with no issues to note. For the price its worth it ! ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Cheap construction - Scanning sucks!
For a multi-machine this thing seems cheaply constructed appearing to have that cheesy plastic, flimsy build.I made a BIG mistake moving from an HP Scanjet 8250 to the 9110.I crank up all the scan settings to scan NCR order forms, and all this does is produce a 400MB file that looks pixelated, light, and crappy. The scanjet 8250, using the same settings produces a beautiful copy at a reasonable file size.I usually do not have to make many modifications in the lighting to make the carbon copies readable....
2-0 out of 5 stars Worst HP product I've ever bought
I am an IT Consultant and I expect a lot more from HP when buying their products. This is the worst product I have ever seen HP put in production.
1-0 out of 5 stars Scanner does not work, other functions just OK
I have had a H-P OfficeJet 9110 for nearly a year now, in January the scan function stopped working. On H-P's recommendation I uninstalled the software and reinstalled, that did not fix the problem. After two more attempts of using H-P's more elaborate proceedures to uninstall/reinstall it still did not work.H-P sent me an 11 page Complete Uninstall proceedure which took me over 3 hours to complete and it still doesn't work.

1-0 out of 5 stars Stay away from this type of printer
In the hospital I worked we have HP laserjet 4050N in every floor. Initially, it looks okay but later a lot of problem with paper jam and not recognizing the size of paper. More than half of printers in the hospital end up feeding from the front, in attempt to trick that stupid HP printer. Otherwise, it stopped printing after first page. HP has a very unreliable customer support and they won't waste their time once 1 yr warrenty period is over. They don't even seem to know the printers they produced and will suggest you to buy a new one.

5-0 out of 5 stars what a work horse!
I have three of these printers for my office (Also a Cannon IR5000 and an HP Color 4500 to explain the caliber of printers that I use. 5-0 out of 5 stars This is a *great* printer
As someone who has used, recommended, and supported printers in workgroups for nearly 10 years, I've come across a couple of truly outstanding printers. This is one of them. It's fast, the text quality is outstanding, and using the manual feeds and output tray, you can have a straight-through paper path for heavier stock. I've successfully used this printer to send post-card thick paper through to print, yes, post-cards.Read more
