1-0 out of 5 stars Frustrating Cartridge Problems
This printer was very nice for the first month we owned it - nice pictures with the photo printing cartridge. Then, we had the first cartridge "failure" and it has been downhill since.Nearly brand new cartridges fail, producing horrible prints and wasting large amounts of money. All of our attempts to get help from HP did not solve the problem and now we don't even bother trying to fix the failed print cartridges. They still work, just make awful looking print outs with lines through them.I don't feel like throwing away another 30 bucks just to have the nearly full cartridge fail in a couple of weeks!Remember when HP was a sign of a quality printer?I'm starting to forget too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely flawless!!An Excellent companion to your Digital Camera!!
We have owned HP 7760 printer for over a year, and it has been absolutely flawless!!Very easy to use, with surreal print quality...it works even without your PC!!Great companion to your Digital Camera!!Highly recommended!!
5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Printer, Superb Price
This printer was given as a gift two years ago, but would not work with my Windows 95 PC; however, when I upgraded to a new iMac this year I pulled the HP Photosmart 7760 out of the box and gave it a try. Installation was straightforward, though I did have to "modify" the USB cable -- which, inexplicably, you must purchase separately -- to make it fit into the printer side of the connection. Otherwise the printer was up and running within minutes.

2-0 out of 5 stars Consumer only printer

4-0 out of 5 stars Good printer, a little complicated to set up print jobs
Most of the complaints here seem related to not understanding the plethora of settings available for this printer. Maybe there are too many options for some users, but on the other hand, you can do a lot of fine tuning before printing--in terms of color values, size, and so forth. For example, I was transferring files composed to the default printer on another computer and was losing type on page edges when printed on the 9800. When I discovered the option to "emulate Laserjet margins," the problem was solved. It is not perfect, but so far I have printed on a variety of media (in all sizes and weights), and my only major complaint is the amount of ink it consumes. But that's a problem with all inkjets. I own five printers, and three of them are HP, one is a Canon photo printer, and one is the Epson Stylus I bought to print CDs. The HPs produce the best results, especially if one reads the manuals.

2-0 out of 5 stars Unpredictable...
I'm a software programmer. Bought this one for a customer to print a3-sized, duplex customs documents. It works, but can be unpredictable. In the same document, the minimum margins where completely different, forcing me to resize the report (irretating). If you want to manually print duplex, you have to make very sure the paper is reloaded properly, because it will eat of the default tray, ruining your duplex print (irretating again). The last years I have been being Canon-printers. Very good - but the Canon i9900 was sold out on our little island where we live, so I moved to HP. Don't if you can avoid it. ... Read more

Editorial Review

Despite the fact that Hewlett-Packard has produced a number of successful digital cameras in the past and is one of the biggest manufacturers of photo-quality printers, the company's lack of experience in film cameras has made it difficult for the public to take them seriously in this field. To help change this perception, Hewlett-Packard has paired up with Pentax for its latest product, and each company has contributed its expertise. The result is a pair of identical cameras: the HP 618 and the Pentax EI 200. With the exception of labels, packaging, and included accessories, the two cameras are the same.Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Camera for the Price
I have had this camera for about a year and I love it. All in all we have taken about 2000 pictures with it and we love the b/w, color, or sepia option. I have taken some really beautiful pictures that are worthy of being framed and out on the wall. I have noticed the battery problem but that is easily fixed by getting rechargeable batteries and putting the quality on good (you still get great pictures). I would say that we can take 125-150 straight shots with the rechargeable batteries. I have not had to talk to HP tech support so I can't comment on that. We did take this camera to Hawaii and got about 400 absolutely great pictures. I also found that it is incredibly easy to download and email my pictures. Once they are downloaded I email them to friends/family or I burn them onto a CD for people as a photo album, it saves a ton of money. I think a lot of the problems that other reviewers have run into have less to do with the actually camera as it does with either tech support, or technology problems with their computers. If you follow the setup instructions, this camera is very easy to use on the computer and a lot of fun to take pictures with.

1-0 out of 5 stars not worth the effort
The camera took great pictures, but downloading from it to the computer would not work. I had to buy a card reader. Battery life was very short. The camera circuit board blew in less than 18 months and would cost $250 to fix, making it worthless. I'll never buy another HP camera.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy it!
I bought this camera more than a year ago. I'd rate it 5 stars except that I had the following problem: The door of my battery compartment got broken! The problem looks silly enough, but upon calling HP they "simply" told me that my product is 'out-of-warranty' and they don't service it anymore. Even worse, they offered a trade up with a newer model. After checking the prices for the newer models, it turned out that they're buying back my camera for less! All the service centers that I could find on their websites told me that they don't service digital cameras (not only mine). So here I am with a great camera that's totally useless because of a broken plastic part and a lousy customer service. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars hp 5550 works like a dream
I've had the 5550 for about 3years, and have never had the least problem with it. It came as a surprise to find that it could produce very high quality photo prints using hp photographic paper. The cartridges don't last all that well, but don't be fooled into replacing them as soon as you get the warning message saying ink is low. I've found that you can keep using the cartridge (moderately) for months after you get the first warning.
4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty solid printer; shame about the cartidges though.
I've had this printer for the best part of 2 years now. It's only ever jammed on me once, and that's when I tried to put too much paper into the feeder. The only real gripe I have about this printer is the way it eats cartridges like there's no tomorrow. Cartridge prices have recently come down though, but they're still incredibly high for what's supposed to be a medium-scale printer. I usually use my brother's LaserJet upstairs if I need to print something quickly.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Printer!
I am more than happy with my (2) HP5550 printers.I have been using them heavily for three years.I am sorry to read so many people are having problems. Most people have problems from lack of computer knowledge (i didn't say anybody was dumb). There are new versions of software available at HP.com for download.Don't use the software that came with the printer. If your printer is jamming paper frequently and making noise you have a problem that needs repair. Then I would ask did you buy this printer new in the original packaging or did you get second hand deal? You might have been scammed! Don't buy brown box specials. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Roadie Printer
I travel quite a bit and needed a small printer to work with my Dell 700m laptop. I'm in the technical field service area. I was trying to choose between the Canon ip90 and the HP 460 but the Canon was out of stock so . . .
4-0 out of 5 stars mobile printing naturally
The printer is fast and printing is always properly aligned on the paper. Quality of printed text is as good as any decent desktop printer and that is why I bought it in the first place. I am yet to try printing photos. Because this is a mobile printer the manufacturer needs to ensure that the unit will stand up to the hits and accidents caused by regular transporting. It might mean providing a second skin or a padded bag with the unit

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly!!!
Driver loaded first time no problem, battery charged quickly, test print came out perfect, test printed a 8.5 x 11 photo, it took about a minute and came out great on the included standard ink. The printer weight is 5.4 lbs with the battery installed it's not light but it's not that bad either. I owned a Canon portable, it lasted 10 months and had to be replaced under warranty, I quickly sold the replacement, they are slow and noisy, they cost way more, the ink cartridges are very tiny and expensive, I had to refill my own to afford to use it, the HP cartridges hold twice as much ink and are cheaper. If you've got money to burn then get the Canon, if not this HP is a deal and you get a battery with it, what good is a mobile printer without a battery? ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars nice pocket pc
This is a really good pocket pc because I can access the internet, do my homework and even type my papers for school. I would recommend you get this because it's a good study tool and a good organizer for teens.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pass on it
I purchased the RZ1715 about six months ago, and it has already worn out---battery will not take a charge, before that it became unpredictable in its behavior, with a lot of soft reboots. In contrast, my previous PDA---a Toshiba that was awesome---lasted about a year. My first PDA---an inexpensive Palm, purchased simply to see if I would use a PDA---lasted two years. The RZ1715 is so radically limited on memory that "Out of Memory" errors were a daily occurrence; I had 64MB expansion card in it, but it only recognized the card about half of the time. This PDA is simply not built to last.

5-0 out of 5 stars My faithful calculating companion
I bought mine about 10 years ago, and I still have it and use it extensively. It has seen use all through pursuing my undergraduate degree and my Ph.D., and in my current work. I have used it for calculating things related to computer graphics, statistics, data compression, and a host of other areas. It has always been up to the task. It is loaded with useful functions and does a lot. Sure, it's not as fast as a more modern one, but it's more than adequate.

3-0 out of 5 stars Used to own one. Durable but some graphing problems.
The good thing about the 48 and other HP's I've owned is that when I have broken them they were actually stolen or lost. I can't say that about the TI-86 or TI-83's I've owned and paid a considerable amount for.HP's seem to be made to last; I hope that hasn't changed. The weakness on the HP48G that I owned during the 90's when graphing calculators came out is that the graphing functions were not as well designed nor worked as well as the TI's. They seem to have improved the latest models so they act a lot more like the TI's. It's something to consider if you are buying an HP graphing calculator from the mid 90's when I purchased and then lost one.
5-0 out of 5 stars Fine craftsmanship!!!
HP calculators are built to be used by professionals. They are built to a standard of quality you seldom see anymore.Unlike calculators from other manufacturers, people who use HP calculators tend to use them for a VERY long time!I have had my HP48g for 8 years now and it still measures up to the competition.YES RPN entry is different BUT it is FAR MORE efficient to use in lengthy or repetitve computations. Unlike Casio,Sharp, and TI, there is a tremendous amount of professional grade software for scientist and engineers widely available. There are games too. The HP48g is solid and it has an IR port as well as a serial port for connection to a computer or other device. This calculator is a powerhouse! If you are a science or engineering major and you want to be serious about your trade then this has to be a device you own! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed
I needed a parallel port printer that could still perform decently at a moderate demand level, and I got exactly that.I had none of the dreaded HP installation software problems nor did I have the page cut-off problem mentioned by another reviewer.I am very pleased by the speed and quality of the output and the ink usage seems quite reasonable. Also, the printer machinery seems very solid.

5-0 out of 5 stars A year of carefree printing
I bought the HP Business Inkjet 1200d out of frustration with dealing with my girlfriend's Lexmark. She doesn't do much printing, so the Lexmark cartridges died quickly with a full inkload. But at $70 per set of Lexmarks, the HP seemed more promising with it's separate printheads at $33 apiece, and ink tanks at similar costs.I wanted separate printheads, as I had been BADLY burned by a $400 Brother multifunction machine that used ONE four-color printhead that cost $200 to replace(at 60 days use).
5-0 out of 5 stars My 6th HP printer
I've had the 1200D for about 6 months, about 4,000 pages.

5-0 out of 5 stars What I like about my hx4705
This is my fourth Windows PDA, first 3 were from Compaq.
1-0 out of 5 stars Great spec - expensive, unreliable and no longer made
I've had one for 9 months and it's a great PDA, albeit a bit power hungry for the battery shipped. Love the screen.
2-0 out of 5 stars Potential not realized
I have had my iPAQ for almost a year and bought it because of positive reviews and the high quality of its screen. I was just told by an "HP repair status specialist" that the motherboard must be replaced and there is no power to the motherboard.I only ever used it to read e-books, run a program called ePocrates - a medication database, play solitaire, and keep up with addresses and phone numbers. I could never get the wireless capability to work.It was reliable for my limited use for about six months and then began it's slow decline.I have updated it, kept "patches" current, and spent about 5 hours of my time with various online and telephone support personnel. I really miss my old Clie.My Dell Axim is also better than the HP. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars When it's dead, it's dead for good.
It is an OK printer while it is working. But when all three control lights start blinking (without any reasonable introduction), you should pretty much give up all your trouble shooting efforts. The "Help" section is worthless, just as the "Basics Guide" booklet. The bubble from the utility bar keeps referring to a craddle blockage that is simply not there...Would you wanna waste hours on the phone to get to technical assistance? The only reason I even remotely consider buying another HP printer, because now I am stuck with all the refill cartridges...

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice Workhorse Printer
When it came time to replace my low-end Epsom color printer, the one received free with my computer, I decided to upgrade to midlevel monochrome printer. So far, a month into my purchase, I am pleased. It is a 3.5 star printer.
2-0 out of 5 stars Worse quality than your old HP LJ1000
I have a small business, and already have other 3 HP Laserjet printers. I was so far happy, and recently bought a LJ1160. I'm very worried about it. It's very fast (20ppm), and really prints very well vectorial graphics and text, but it has a very bad quality for rasterized images (BMP,GIF,JPEG,etc). It doesn't have a setting specifically for image printing, and the driver has some bugs. You can't even read some parts of scanned documents (for example, old datasheets of electronic devices).
2-0 out of 5 stars Tray
The manual feed is a pain, it's one paper feed at a time and it difficult to feed the paper since it's not a try but a slot - I am also having difficultyprinter to tray two, for some reason it keep referring to manual feed even if everything is set to print from (auto feed or even tray 2).I have three in the office and I will no purchase another one just for this reason. ... Editorial Review

Hewlett-Packard's HP 48GX is the most powerful calculator in the 48 series, offering the same advanced calculation and programmability features as its siblings, along with expansion options that should appeal to power users and programmers. All this is made possible by the expansion card slot, which lets users expand the built-in memory from 128 KB to a maximum of 1.256 MB or install application software that adds more advanced features to the calculator. 5-0 out of 5 stars Stack is different. This required learning
To store '5' on the HP48 line of calculators, hit 5 [enter].It's stored. You can even see where it's stored right away because you're always looking at the bottom four stack entries. It seems the previous reviewer believes that the way TI does calculators is the way calculators should be done.If that's you, buy a TI.Storing a value in a named variable is a fundamentally different way of thinking about calculation from the way HP decided to do it.5-0 out of 5 stars The Mercedes Benz of Calculators
Being a college professor of Electrical Engineering for over 30 years, and having used numerous brands and models of calculators and having written reviews of some of them for various publications, there is no doubt in my mind that the HP48GX is indeed head and shoulders above all the other calculators (even the HP49).The RPL entry system is a natural and easy to learn process that mimics the pencil and paper approach that we've all learned in Grammar school arithmetic. The efficiency of input and the ease with which it handles comlex-number calculations is second to none.Formulae can be entered with mixed units and the calculator automatically performs internal conversions to present the answer in whatever valid units you desire. It handles 2-D and 3-D vectors with all the corresponding mathematical operations seemlessly. The infrared connectivity (wireless) and RS232 port (wire) both allow communication between another HP calculator and your computer. This calculator has the right mix of 'function per key' versus 'menu per key' that makes it very easy to negotiate.5-0 out of 5 stars HP and RPN Entry
Sorry if this is a little off the topic, but I guess you could say HP sent me here.....Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Good images, TERRIBLE build quality
This thing is terrible. It almost never feeds paper correctly- nearly every time I tell the computer to print, the 7850 doesn't grab the paper, just makes a lot of noise and then stops until I press the ok button and crawl under my desk to hand feed each page to it.I thought I could deal with that, but then my papers started coming out with one corner crinkled and sometimes torn.I looked inside the printer and a tiny metal bar that keeps the paper aligned had somehow fallen out of its sockets, and there was no possible way to get it back in because the way it is designed. This morning it started printing the text crooked too.And I've only had it for about 5 months!

1-0 out of 5 stars Worst printer I've ever worked with!
I find it difficult to believe that Hewlett Packard actually put its name on this printer. (I wouldn't if I'd had anything to do with it.) First the printer reports constant errors with ink cartridges. These are false reports:All I have to do is open and close the door.It has frequent paper jams.Almost every time I print, I have to prime the cartridges to get decent quality. First, I gave HP and the 7850 the benefit of the doubt and took the printer back to the store and exchanged it for another one (it was too late to just get another model), assuming that I merely had a lemon.Well printer number two is just as bad.Now on to the design flaws. The 7850 will technically print on 4x6 photo paper; however, it is next to impossible to properly seat the smaller size paper. You have to stick your hand up into the printer and hope the paper is in the right place. There is a guide to made sure it is correctly seated left to right, but front to back-- just cross your fingers.I also print CD lables and the software indicates that with most printers it is not necessary to calibrate (or make up for the fact that the paper does not feed properly); well, with the 7850 you definitely need to calibrate; it just doesn't help. The top, or the bottom, or the side, or something is always cut off.I calibrate it based on the last print, and the next one is just messed up in a different way. This is not a problem in other printers! This is purely because the 7850 has no guide to indicate when the paper is properly inserted. If you need precision printing, or just something that WORKS more than it sends error messages, go "Office Space" on this printer with a baseball bat and buy something that works. I've worked with several HP models, Lexmarks, and a no-name, and this is by far the worst printer of the lot!I'm not surprised to see that they're practically giving it away. But take my warning, even $1 is too much to pay for what may be the world's worst printer. You might get one or two beautiful prints, but you can't depend on it.You'll just end up having to buy another one unless you're willing to waste A LOT of p
