2-0 out of 5 stars full of bulls...overpriced gimmicky gadget
4 stars for neat factor, 0 stars for price.in 2006 you now know why sony sucks at portable electronics, they not only missed the boat, they still think their original sony cassette walkman is still the bomb.for half the price you can pick up any smart phone with ten times the features. file this under mini-disc, memory stick, and beta along with the soon to be defunct blu-ray.a strong brand getting weakened by its own products... who's in charge there anyway???(although for $50 to $99 i can see this item flying out the door.)

4-0 out of 5 stars Best Skype Phone
This device gets a lot of critism for limited feature, and that is true.HOWEVER, this is the best Skype phone on the market.I bought it and then lowered by cell phone bill.Since it cost as much and any other Skype wi-fi portable phone, just think of more as a high-featured skype phone than a low-featured communicator.Definatly worth the purchase.
4-0 out of 5 stars Good Wi-fi Connectivity But a Caveat
The audio quality using SKYPE is very, very good. Battery life is so far exceptional, particularly with regard to the Mylo as an mp3 player. But what is troublesome so far has been my inability to make video that plays acceptably by the device.I have used PSP Video 9 and InterVideo to Go to produce mp4 video which the player invariably plays, but the end result is a pixellated catastrophe.Playing the same mp4 files with QuickTime causes no such problems. I have downloaded mp4 files made by Sony's proprietary Image Converter 2 Software; these work well in the Mylo. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars I wanted so much to like this camera...
A Carl Zeiss 24-120 zoom--the stuff of dreams. My dreams, anyway. So I went for it.I have to say, this camera is a horse--it is enormous--but the weight was not troublesome in the least (in fact it aids stability). 5-0 out of 5 stars Sony Digital Camera DSCR1 10.3MP
Excelent Photo Qualities, great detail on large prints.High quality lense, from wideangle to telephoto shots as simple as point and shoot. Manually ajust F-Stop and Shutter Speed for Field of Depth or Stop Action Shots.Everything from Metering to a grid viewfinder to make profesional photography simple.A major name brand body alone would cost three times as much for the 10.3MP format.A great camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Zen answer
I have previously been unsatisfied with digital cameras primarily due to the shutter lag phenomenon. I really like capturing the "moment" and in my years as a film photographer (mostly portraits and theater) was happy to say I wasted very little film.

5-0 out of 5 stars I absolutely LOVE this computer!
I bought this little laptop because I have a large "desktop replacement" 17" widescreen also which has become too large to bring to meetings, classes or seminars I may go to and I noticed many other executives using this Sony TX model so when I received it I was pleasantly surprised at the weight, the outstanding color and brightness and I get tons of comments on how practical and helpful it is in meetings! I bought another one recently for my husband as I originally bought him a Sony UX which is too small and not very practical which I'm now returning and he absolutely loves his Sony TX too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!You can get add-on memory directly from [...] for a great price too!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great portable computer
I got this computer about a week ago and I absolutely love it!It is incredibly small while still being practical.Probably not a great computer for anyone with limited vision, but otherwise perfect.Great for anyone who needs to take their computer with then without adding a ton of weight.Perfect for students to take to class.Highly recomended.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great machine, ugly keyboard
Got the machine today. Great machine. A little slow the transfer to disk but the keyboard is dark grey with black keys. You can't see them if you do not use a head lamp. Thre only solution, black stickers with white letters. The guy who designed it should have been drunk.... My FE590G has white keys with black letters, perfectly legible. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Should have started with a Sony
18 months ago we purchased a Philips 180MT combination monitor TV - the apparent equivalent of this Sony. After 13 months, it went black and we sent it to their warranty department, expecting them to replace it within the five days promised. After weeks with no word we called and were told they no longer made it and had no parts to repair it. We were sent a refurbished model with a smaller screen and no PIP feature. After five more months of calls, we were sent another model, again inferior to the original. When I plugged it in, it went up in smoke! I called and finally got connected to someone with authority and a true concern for customer service who refunded our original cost.
5-0 out of 5 stars Oh my God, Oh my God
    Wow,
5-0 out of 5 stars not bad
I purchased this monitor 2 weeks ago and it seems fine. No dead pixels, the colors are great. It works fine as a TV set with my cable antena and it gives me a lot of screen real estate for my PC. The brightness is adjustable so there is no eye strain involved.

    1-0 out of 5 stars Poor ....
    All,
1-0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY FROM VAIOS
My laptop has completely broken down TWICE in the 1.5 years since purchase ($2100 new !!!!) Motherboard and hard disk replaced 6 months ago, and now motherboard needs to be replaced again. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GARBAGE-TOPS. There is already a class-action lawsuit against Sony VAIO laptops filed in California, and will be one filed in New York soon.

1-0 out of 5 stars Risky investment
I did not buy this computer but I bought two VAIO PCG-NV before. Both computers became very sick (memory slot problem, dvd-rom problem, lcd problem, etc) just after the warranty expired. There is a sony service center in my city but I was not allowed to drop my laptops there. I had to pay the shipping fee plus more than $250 for each computer to be repaired. A few months ago, one latop suffered from the "motherboard" disease. I decided that it is not worthwhile to save its life. The Worst purchase I even made.

4-0 out of 5 stars Battery Life
I recently purchased this Sony to replace my Dell and the weight of it works great since I am able to transport it well here in NYC. The 100 gig and processor are great for the price of mainstream laptops.Downfalls of this laptop include the default battery life that doesn't last as long as it should considering the technology we have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Good enough for travel
Pro: made in Japan, no dead pixels, compact, eye candy, all drivers and user manuals available on support site, outer metal case, DVD write.
5-0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect
I must say that this is the only laptop currently on the market that I find acceptable for my needs. It's small, light (compare it to a Macbook that has the same screen size but a pound heavier!), it has a decent video card (I would not mind better, it has 64 Mb dedicated, plus another 64 sharing, but most laptops this size don't have even that!), it has a wifi card that is extremely well supported - I installed Linux on this laptop - works beautifully, I can not only connect to wifi networks, I can also monitor traffic in promiscuous mode AT THE SAME TIME as being connected to the net, I can even make it an access point. The screen is excellent quality, harddisk, optical drive - no complains, got enough for all I need so far. Like the design of it, very stylish. Looks extremely good with the Linux desktop manager Enlightenment - non-intrusive but beautiful eye candy. Check it out at http://elivecd.org - you can try it out without installing first, to see how good it is.

I bought this because I tried another monitor, and it had an input lag issues that made it unusable to me (I'm sensitive to that sort of thing).I am a perfectionist, so I decided to pop some extra money for quality.Well, I have to say: I think Sony really does deliver outstanding quality with this product.
3-0 out of 5 stars 3rd replacement, dead pixels on every one of them
First monitor, it has 8 dead pixels on it. I called Sony, they ship me a replacement monitor after 1 month. First replacement monitor has 26+ dead pixels, so I called again... They sent another one, which has 1 dead pixel but pinkish color on 4 sides of the screen. Then... i call again.. they sent 3rd replacement monitor, no pinkish color but I still have 1 dead and 1 stuck pixel on the screen. The dead pixel is fine with me, but the stuck pixel is one big bright dot sitting where is noticeable. Whenever I watch movie on the screen, I can see the stuck pixel especially in dark background. Why does it has to be me getting all the bad monitors?? I doubt I will purchase another Sony monitor ever again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I've had this monitor for 4 months now and I'm very happy with it. The difference with space on my desk is huge, going from a 19' CRT. The stand is well made and looks good as does the overall product. The tilt feature works great too. I returned the 1st one to BestBuy after 3 weeks because I found it cheaper from newegg. Both monitors have had zero dead pixels. I haven't expereniced any pink problem, whatever that is. ... Read more
