Excelent Laptop for the price
This is my second Toshiba laptop and i'm very satisfied with it. Light weight, good battery life and excelent performance. The only bad point (the reason i didn't give it 5 stars) is the lack of a IR port (the old laptop has one). Bottom line: For the price is a very good deal.

I bought this on sale, it's a good laptop, its light waight and is really confortable for travel. I'm studying architecture and with all thebig programs i have to use to draw its really fast and never freezes, its reeeally fast and the 1GB memory is great...
The Best Laptop I've Ever Owned!
I depend heavily upon my laptop for work, and also travel on business.Out of several laptops I've owned over the years--including a Toshiba predecessor to this model (which I stupidly DROPPED!), this one is the best.My former Compaq used to freeze up constantly requiring me to eject the battery just to reboot.The previous Toshiba while absolutely *wonderful* wasn't quite as fast as this one, and I paid more money for it.

I cuurently use this laptop for home use and to surf the internet and other small programs. This is my first latop. I got it for $499 at Best Buy, and I'm planning to upgrade it to 512MB-1GB RAM.

Not worth the headaches...
This computer overheats constantly.Nothing helps - read various computer forums online and you'll see Toshiba has a huge problem on its hands with this.There is also have a class action settlement currently underway on a similar Toshiba model for the same issue.

IK-WB01 - Much like one of the above reviewers, I was mislead by the promise of "motion detection".
The camera's ability to "pan & tilt" and the 0.7 lux (low light) were my primary considerations for selecting this camera.It was between this IK-WB01 and the D-link DCS-950G.The D-link has better light gathering capability, but the coolness of pan and tilt won out! Pretty good with some minor flaws
I have this and a DLink DCS-900W.Both can do 640x480 color, but the DLink costs about 60% as much.This camera is more than twice as good, as long as you don't need FTP.
Toshiba's IK-WB01A is a disgrace!!
I am extremely disappointed with this camera. The manual is written in very poor English which I had a hard time deciphering and it doesn't explain some basic operations. I cannot imagine how Toshiba managed to get the best geeks in Japan to develop this camera but they couldn't get a professional translator to write up a manual in English. I know that most of their customer's speak English, so this doesn't make any sense.

Lacking Inputs, But Still Performs
I bought the TDP-T30U after checking out a few reviews of it and some other brands (Optima etc) for a home theatre set-up. So far I've found it to be very good, especially in a dark room. The color and brightness are excellent, although obviously in a lit room it doesn't perform so well. The main thing that prevents me from giving 5 stars is that there are only 2 useful inputs; composite and S-video. It'd be nice to have component available as well, because with a DVD player and an XBox, I've already used all the inputs (except the VGA one, which I use occassionally for a laptop). All in all it's a good buy though, and I'd recommend it, as long as you have the room for it (it's kind of large for a coffee-table projector). ... Read more

Buyer beware
Purchased one of these American Qosmio's and imported it to New Zealand. The Qosmio lasted just one month longer than its one year international warranty and then the motherboard died. I have always liked Toshiba but after wasting so much money on one I will never get another.

Great Little Laptop
This is the second Toshiba Laptop I've owned, the first one was a big bulky but bulletproof Toshiba Satellite A25-S207.The thing I like about toshibas is the fact that they come with a boot up disk that can absolutely wipe your computer clean.I owned my first toshiba for 2 years before programs and junk had built up and the computer was running sluggish, so I backed up my files on an external hard drive and wiped the system clean.Followed by reinstalling my most important documents and having literally a brand new system.This computer has been in my posession for 3 months and it's worked flawlessly.
Cool features and configuration for the price but so-so performance
This is best laptop you can get with such a great configuration and so many features in a small package, but I was expecting it to perform much better with Centrino Duo as my last laptop with Centrino performed the same. Though I am not complaining.
Good product - has several cool features
Awesome notebook - install was really easy. Finger print reader is excellent - especially the additional functionality it offers. (Passowrd logins, launching applications using different fingerprints ... yes, you can actually give Outlook the middle finger !! No pun intended.)
