HP a1430n Crashed twice
I bought this computer and 15 days later came in to see the blue screen of death for no reason.... sent it back to hp who fixed it and mailed it back to me ... one week later, I got the same crash.Don't know why.

Great value for your money
I've had this computer for a few months now and haven't had any problems with it. It performs nicely and is very quiet, though I haven't really stressed it that much. But it has no issues whatsoever with normal usage, and is consistently snappy. I tried running Ubuntu Linux on top of Windows XP using VMWare, and it continued to perform just fine.
Whatever you reason is for buying this computer - THINK AGAIN
I bought this computer for its AMD 64 bit dual core. After I installed XP 64 bit OS I discovered that 64 bit drivers were not available from HP. Eventually I located a web site with needed drivers but I had topay for them.

Nice package but definitely has its faults
I have bought two of these machines for my workplace.The display is great.It's crisp and vivid.The design of the machine is also nice.Definitely looks good in the office.The downfall of this machine are the peripherals that come with it.I had trouble with the mouse getting reception on both machines, even after replacing the batteries.Also after a few weeks of use on BOTH machines that ive purchased, the DVD-RW drive will no longer open.You can push the button, but nothing happens.Ive been coping with that problem by using a paper clip to open the drive.Luckily it's still under warranty, but a large annoyance to have to go through the Sony Support process.

This is one hot little computer for the price, though I got it for 1/4 the price it sells for here so I would suggest shopping around. I was told at the store I bought it at that they are being discontinued and that was why it was only $500.
Really wanted to like it, but will be returning it.
What can I say? I REALLY wanted to like this computer: It looks beautiful (the screen is incredibly vivid), and the prospect of a single, sleek, wireless integrated unit replacing my desktop and its massive tangle of wires was extraordinarily appealing. Unfortunately, the execution is less promising than I had hoped, and certainly less than one should expect from a $1700 system, so I will regretfully be returning it.

Very good and fast!
This computer is good and fast and has a 200 GB Hard Drive. I use this computer almost everyday and it never seems to slow down (which is an improvement over our last computer). I do play alot of games so it's good for a gamer who loves computer games. It also features a CD burner and a DVD Player (by this time, I guess most computers do).
its ok for a novice gamer
Its a nice pc dont get me wrong but if your into games you dont want a intergrated graphics card cause if you want a game that the one in the pc doesnt support you'd might have to buy a new mother board then upgrade everything else, Id just build my own.

Solid, quiet, space-saving, cool running
I held out buying a new computer for a while. I had last purchased an HP Pavilion and had good success but that was 7+ years ago (yes, I get my money's worth). My wife spotted this little guy and it was love at first sight.

I like the machine, but I don't like the win XP Media edition. I removed20 or 30 games from the hard drive. I created the CD Rom installation CD's and tested them by reinstalling the operating system. I had to reinsert several of the CD's two or three times before they would read correctly. I like the ability to buy just the PC, keyboard, and mouse. My monitor, printer, and speakers that I already had were fine for this system. ... Read more

A spunky little computer
Our company is based in Japan, so we love using the small iMacs as terminals in our too-small stock room. They are prefect, very fast, connect to anything we need them to, and have all the features you expect of a Mac. The 15" model is great for people who need a compact machine that moves out of the way immediately, and the screen is also great for anyone with less than perfect vision (like me) since you can move the screen right up close to your face. Try doing that with a CRT. All in all, I love the current generation of iMacs to death.

Good bye PC's
For years I have dealt with PC's.The freezing up at inappropriate moments, the noise, how they often lag.With some nudging from my girl friend and mother who both have used Macs extensively, I looked into them, and purchased the iMac,, and I have never been so happy using a computer.It used to be a major headache just to open attachments on an e-mail, often times ending in a colorful proliferation of four letter words being bandied about.But with the iMac, the most simple things are just that simple.Sure there may be some drawbacks such as a couple of web sites have glitches when viewing, but the bottom line is that does not matter. HASN'T THE INTUITIVE EASE OF OPERATION OF PREVIOUS MACS
It pains me to rate my iMac so low because I have been a Mac booster for many years, after converting from a PC. I will say up front that I am not a computer nerd and need something simple that I can operate without reading a lot of books or going to school. Read more

I like mine but I know I paid too much
I am pretty used to the MacOs so I stuck with it when I decided to buy a new computer.However comparing what I got to a Windows PC didn't make me feel good.For 1/2 the price you can buy a PC with the same features, flat screen and speed.So I paid over 500 more for the privilege of using the MacOS.If I knew how to use Windows I would have switched.I was pretty steamed.

It's such a pleasure to work in OS X, especially on such a beauty as my iMac. I dread having to test our sites on our PC--what a messthat poor thing is. Even our Linux technical administrator hates the PC, and is converting to the Mac. Another wonderful Apple product

MACTABULOUS!!!
For all those people who are concerned about space restrictions and want a powerhouse computer that will not need a large footprint, the Mac Mini is the perfect solution.Packing a boatload of power into a computer yay bigger than a coaster, there is no better power/space combination in the entire computing world!
Great form factor for a good price
It's funny how Apple offers a low price computer and everyone feels it should be faster and more full-featured than it is but similarly-priced PCs seem not to carry such expectations.
An extremely well built little piece of technology with a few weak points...
Well, first of all let me say that the mini is a relatively large amount of power packaged in very little space. Everything is extremely easy to install and if you get the wireless mouse and keyboard you will be saving a USB port, which is always a good thing.

still amazed
I was able to pick one of these up a year ago- one of the last ones Apple had as the G5 had already been out.
Reliable Machine
I have the 1GHz model from early 2003, but it is very similar. This is a machine that has not let me down. Although OS X took some getting used to after using the old OS since 1989 and was a bit frustrating to learn, I came to appreciate its Unix core. The latest model should come with iMovie 4, which is a great movie making program (sure beats Vegas and iMovie 3, which was a bad joke). I do recommend Office X and Virtual PC for compatibility reasons when you buy an iMac--plus Office X beats AppleWorks for word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation (although not for object-oriented drawing). This is also a good system for developing programs, using a scanner (iPhoto is a nice complement), working with audio (the 2003 model had SoundStudio but I don't think the new ones do), and burning CDs and DVDs. It's a big investment but it will be able to run new software for quite some time. This model is gone now but the G5 should be just as good plus faster.

Highly recommended.
This is the most innovative computer in it's class. Macintosh computers are very user friendly: easy to set up and use and (unlike most PCs) seldom crash or malfunction. It has an adjustable flat-panel displays with exceptionally bright, sharp images. The processor speed is really great. This new iMac is a terrific computer at a quite reasonable price.
