Why settle for less, when you can get a brand new original colorful ultra-cool Sony VAIO FJ series laptop with 1GB RAM, 100GB disk, DVD writer, built-in webcam, etc. and all for Free! I got mine from this web site:getbestfreestuff.com/laptop

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Great Product
I love this machine. It works like a charm. The keyboard setup is well thought-out and the screen quality is bright and crisp. Yes, there's too much fluffy value-added software on it, but you can always scrape it off. (Its presence helps keep the price low.) Toshiba's own laptop utilities are excellent. The oversensitivity of the touchpad can easily be rectified by adjusting the touchpad settings. As for documentation, Toshiba has always had the very best--a complete manual is in the form of a .pdf file on the hard drive.
1-0 out of 5 stars Very slooooooooooooow
I don't like this computer at all.It sometimes takes up to 3 minutes for a screen change. On occasion it has been slower than dial up.The CD/DVD drive is defective. It may be OK if all you are doing is typing a paper, etc. but not for anything else. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars disappointment
positives:
5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
I really am confused over how someone could dislike this laptop as much as these other people have.Frankly this is the best electronic device I have ever owned. It does everything your typical computer should do, plus more, alot more. The docking station is fantastic especially when I need to move around (just pick it up and go, my router is connected to the station), and I won't even get in to how great it is to watch tv, record the shows you miss, and then burn them to DVD so you can watch later. For me, the FS680 has all the mobility of any other laptop, but with desktop-like power inside, plus features that even some desktops don't have.

1-0 out of 5 stars Slow, low battery life
Although it has a 1.86 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM, it is very slow compared to a slower model.Besides, the battery life is only about 1.5 hours at the most making it not as portable as other SONY laptops. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY
I have the exact same problems as the previous reviewer. Mulitple hard drive and system board replacements and unfriendly tech support. The computer is currently being fixed for the 6th time. Toshiba tech support is a joke - they know next to nothing. I once waited on hold for 2 hours and 15 minutes befor finally giving up. If you find youself in the same situation, contact customer relations (if you can get through) and file a complaint - the more the better. I hope to be getting a refurbished laptop as a result. You can sell it on Ebay ($1200) and buy something else - NOT TOSHIBA. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

1-0 out of 5 stars Be aware of crooked Toshiba repair services
I wish I would know at a time of buying this laptop what I know now. To make my story really quick, Toshiba fails to repair this $3200 laptop. We have it for little over 1.5 year; it was used only for about 6 months. It is in repairs and being repaired since 2.2.2006 with the same problem for 6 times now.
1-0 out of 5 stars Shamus
Beware. The computers OK. I've owned it less than a year and the motherboard already had to be replaced.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST!!!
I've had this laptop for a week. Best purchase I've made in years. Very fast. Display is amazing. 120 gig harddrive. The software toshiba installs is great. I got this laptop for 700 bucks but its well worth 1499.99.

1-0 out of 5 stars Big Mistake/Disappointment
I am not the world's greatest computer geek by a long shot, but I do pretty well at work with HPs, Dells, etc.I have these at work and at home, and have had for years. When they arrived, there were directions, which were easy to follow, and numbers to call if there were problems.
5-0 out of 5 stars Good price and great performance!
Having purchased many laptops over the years, I can recommend this one highly. The display is very bright and is 17 inches, great if you need to do spreadsheets or visually taxing applications. Also, the numeric keypad is built in so you don't need an external plug-in for that.It travels well and is no more cumbersome than my former Thinkpad. The sound is excellent and make a note that there is a volume control on a dial on the front so you don't need to go in to the computer to change the volume. The price is right and the performance is great! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Amazing machine!
Can't believe it took me so long to switch from Windows! A wonderful machine, that is a pleasure to use. Just one minor gripe - under-powered USB ports mean some external USB drives need a powered hub. There's no excuse for that. Other than that, by far the best laptop I have ever used, and great looking as well!

2-0 out of 5 stars Repair
If you plan on buying this laptop, be aware that there have been issues with the memory slots on this model. Apple has issued a repair extension program to help owners deal with this.Unfortunately this program only applies to 1.5 GHz and 1.67 GHz machines.A number of people with 1 GHz and 1.25 GHz machines are having the same failure, but I am not aware of any help for these machines.

1-0 out of 5 stars Could be Sams Club, could be Sony, Not sure.
Well this being the 3rd yes THIRD notebook i've gotten from Sam's Club really has me wondering about the quality of there products. First off i got a Qosmio, which i really didn have a problem with until i found someone elses documents on it and found out it wasnt suppose to be sold. So back it went, i had wanted another toshiba because it was super nice but they wouldnt send it from one club to another, so much for that. So i went back to Sam's and picked up a Compaq which turned out to be crap, the screen flickered badly and the burner was only burning at 2X speed tops. So now to the Sony Vaio. Well after paying a hefty 1,149 bucks for it with smaller specs than some of the cheaper models i thought well great its a Sony what can go wrong? Plenty. Here's just a list of a pro and cons about the whole computer over all, and i do believe its a Sam's thing. Not sony.

5-0 out of 5 stars Toshiba P25- S526 , Takes a Licken' Keeps on Ticken'

1-0 out of 5 stars Toshiba does not care for its customers
In the beginning it was the DVD drive: it broke down only a few weeks after acquiring my laptop. It took Toshiba 3+ weeks to change it. Then the HD crashed. It took them 2 weeks to repair it. Probably a quick and dirty repair, since the HD broke down again a few weeks later. That was 4 weeks ago and since then they are trying to repair my laptop - which beyond the HD seems to have other deeper problems. Despite all these problems, Toshiba will not replace the laptop for one that works and ask me to keep waiting...
1-0 out of 5 stars Poor customer service - will not replace defective computers
The Satellite P25-S526 notebook computer has never worked properly -- it gives a fatal error message and the blue screen appears. The computer techs could not fix it, so it was sent back to Toshiba for repairs. They apparently replaced the hard drive, but when it was sent back to us, it continued its previous behavior.Toshiba refuses to exchange the defective computer for a new one that works. They claim that their warranty policy only covers the repair of the original computer. So far, we have wasted a month on this computer, and it still doesn't work.Plus, Toshiba wants us to send the computer back to them for more repairs. We may like the computer once it is working, but the hassle is not worth it.Buyers beware! ... Toshiba refers to its 2430 series of Satellite notebooks as "the best desktop replacement at a value price," yet the Satellite 2435-S255 is seemingly too compact to be typecast as a desktop replacement. Measuring 13 by 11 by 1.7 inches and weighing just 7.7 pounds, the unit is in fact not as cumbersome as many typical portables. Regardless, the Satellite 2435-S255 is a solid and affordable notebook suitable for most any situation.Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased
I bought my Toshiba on March 1, 2003, in preparation for college.I intended this unit to last through all four years of college, and so far, it has lasted 3 with minimal problems. So far I have had 2 major problems with the laptop, which were easily fixed.I understand that no electronic runs perfectly, and they don't stay perfect forever, so I expect certain problems, which is why these problems seem minimal to me while they may seem larger to other Toshiba owners.
5-0 out of 5 stars Addressing the Overheat Problem
I've heard from too many people stating that their laptop overheats. I've had mine for quite some time now and I began to experience the 'overheat' problem as well, as the fans would never come down from their maximum speed and the laptop would frequently shutdown on me. It boggled my mind for a few weeks, then I decided to open the cooling maintanance cover and look at the fans/heatsink. I ran a straightened paperclip along the inside of the heatsink and low and behold, clods of dust came spewing out. I pushed it to about where the heatsink separates from the fan duct and ran pieces of paper in that little gap to get the dust out. Since I cleaned out the heatsink, the fans have YET to come on anything above their lowest setting for any more than a few seconds. I still haven't gotten use to the fans being completely off for a very long time!
1-0 out of 5 stars Runs WAY too hot....
A major disappointment. I have had this computer for 3 years and I do regret buying it. It seemed like an outstanding computer when I purchased it but it was not long before heat became a major issue. Yes, it is very well equipped...but it overheats so easily and suddenly shuts off that it negates most features. I can not afford to keep repairing my computer every few months. I can go online with this computer and word process...that is pretty much it. There are far more affordable models that can meet those needs. If I play a video game, burn a CD, or try to print a long document the computer overheats and loses power. It would be comical if it had not cost me so much to buy it. I would not purchase any Toshiba computer product in the future just because this laptop left a very bitter taste in my mouth. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a great computer!
I have a similar version its t-23 2647-EU9 its generall the same maching.I got mine of ebay for 400 and its great. Not really any heating problems.Dont be scared of the track point its alot easier than touch pads once u spend about thirty minutes with it. It doesnt inhibit typing at all.I had problems on other laptops b/c when i would set my wrist down on the palm rest i would touch the touch pad and it would click somewhere in my text and i wouldn't notice it and that was very annoying.Great battery life even with the LCD turned onto bright. If you get it without drivers ibm has an updater you can download.i like the wireless internet, had a few problems saying it "couldn't start" but i just disabled it and shut down the computer and let it sit awhile then turn it on and enable it and it would work great. It has good connectivity. The must is to use the windows wireless program it beats out ibm's program.has infrered for people with media cellphones.speakers point down from front of laptop, which projects into my lap and then into the computer where it makes it sound like music is comming out of the keyboard. But overall this is an awesome computer with an awesome keayboard!!!! i love it!!!! ... 5-0 out of 5 stars MY GOD!
hey,
5-0 out of 5 stars Best Laptop
The 14" iBook has the best screen I have seen in a laptop. The additional screen space over the 12" seems to be more than just the 2" I have had no problems with it. The built in Airport has been very useful. The processor speed is fast enough to do a good fast job in PhotoShop.

Editorial Review

Recognized globally for its state-of-the-art image and winning formula, noted Italian-based sports and racecar builder Ferrari doesn't lend its familiar colors and logo out to just anyone. Yet that is precisely what it has done for Acer's new Acer Ferrari mobile computer. Dressed up in gorgeous Ferrari Red/classic gray paint scheme and sporting a prominent Ferrari Prancing Horse logo on its bonnet, the Acer Ferrari 3000LMi Notebook is distinctive and fashionable. More critically, it delivers solid 3-D performance, comprehensive connectivity and a lightweight portable design, thus making it a perfect tool for businesspeople and personal users alike.Read more
