Don't buy this Vaio
Unless you do not want any support that approaches anything remotely reasonable.
Simply awesome.
I have owned multiple laptops over the years and this is by the far the best. This Laptop is a powerhouse, starting with its 17" screen which makes any web page, video, or game look fantastic. The finger print sensor makes logging onto the computer and websites so much easier than having to type your passwords in. We played with this for an hour trying to get it to log in with somebody else's fingerprint but it never did. The fan does run alot but I hardly notice it, but it does push alot of heat out of the unit. It handles all my CCIE and CCNP simulators no problem not to mention games. I have had one problem with, the power control unit died but with one call to customer service they had a box delivered the same day with overnight shipping to repair it at no charge to me, I work with all types of computers every day and I know stuff happens so no big deal. So if you like having the power to run any program that you have and super high quality graphics then I highly recommend this product.

I love this notebook!
I currently own 3 laptops (wife, work and kids) and sold recently my VAIO PCG-K23. This laptop is by far the best that I have ever owned. I work in the same office space with the coleague that I sold my K23 and we don't hear the fan at all. It is really very quiet. In fact is as quiet as the other laptop. It takes a lot of time to boot up but not as long as others that I had. Depends on all the software that you have.

HP Sucks
HP has the WORST customer service of any company of any kind that I have ever dealt with. I have never called without having spent at least one hour on the phone with them before the various extensions in India, none of whom are helpful. And once the service is complete the computer is usually returned with more problems than they were origionally sent with. I would never buy another HP again.

Love It, Love It, Love It!
It's fast, easy to use, and beautiful. It's fully loaded with all the key features of today. I didn't expect it to be THIS great when I saw it online! Love it! Get it!

Nice screen, but.....
The laptop did not arrive with DVI-D output as listed in the description.It has d-sub/vga or s-video unless I purchase the optional docking station.The case has d-sub.The tv card has tv/video inputs and s-video output.This laptop was purchased a month ago for my vision-impaired husband who fell in love with the beautiful screen but also to connect to our 42" HD LCD, which it is unable to do as received.A disappointment.I could get an dsub/dvi adapter cable or use the tv card s-video, but from the product description, I was expecting out of the box dvi connectivity.I recommended to my husband that we return it, but he decided to keep it.He really does like that screen!
Vaio has beautiful display but no documentation
The wide screen on the Vaio is a beautiful display.It complements the multimedia capability of the laptop very well.The only short coming of the computer is the lack of any hard copy documentation or backup recovery disks.In the event of a misstep the owner must call Sony Vaio and purchase a recovery disk.

Full-Featured Powerhouse With Some Limitations
I bought this machine as a powerful portable for software development and home entertainment use and wasn't disappointed. With the most amazing screen of any current laptop and some of the speedier components on the market right now, I'm not left twiddling my thumbs during the processor-intensive tasks as I was with my older laptop. There are a lot of other companies who have much better products
I could not, in any way, suggest this product to anyone.First, their cusotmer support of the product is the worst I have encountered in 16 years of owning laptops.A very simple repair they are refusing to handle.Somehow the rep I talked to felt I had purposely damamged the PC.All that is wrond is that the strain relief on the power supply separated.I have now spent over 3 hours on the phone over two days and have yet to get this resolved.
Very impressive
Pros: extremely high cost-effectiveness (got a display model for $550 from CompUSA), sturdy, crystal clear sound with SRS, good Human-Computer Interface design.
Economic Choice
Always Tablet PC's were expensive, i always wanted to own one, when the prices began from $1,500 - 2,500 in the old days, till my eyes catched this tablet, coming to the specs and the user reviews i would add also.

So far so good...
So far I have enjoyed using my HP pavilion...it has given me no trouble at all. Wireless is great as well as speed and memory.I have not had a chance to use the DVD burner yet but am not anxious.

Very nice so far
After using IBM ThinkPad for 6 years I was looking for something cheap because Thinkpad are not (Lenovo???). So far HP DV4250 works fine because I got this for half price of ThinkPad. 15.4 inch screen is pretty good (1280x800 and true color). Main thing performance is good and you can always increase RAM to 1GB but 512MB enough for general use. (I am software Pro and notebook is ideal for development work).
